Simone Melbourne Home Birth Photography

Simone and I initially met to purely discuss our passion for birth. We sat and chatted for hours about our experiences and how we wanted to share our knowledge to others. Simone has a really popular little business called Peaceful Birthing. She helps educate others on how Hypnobirthing techniques can prepare parents to be for a positive birthing experience. 

That was why months later I was so excited to be invited to document Simone’s birth experience. As it turns out, even more excited to know I would be documenting her home birth.

We joked in the weeks leading up to her birth that a quick day birth would be just perfect so when I got the call not long after waking in the morning I couldn’t believe that Simone may just experience her dream birth. 

Simone experienced almost everything in the lead up to her second birth so when I arrived with the announcement that the baby is almost here I couldn’t believe it (you can read her perspective here). 10 minutes after I arrived I watched a beautiful supported safe home birth. I saw a mother realise in those last few moments that SHE DID IT! 

I tear up now thinking about it just as I did then. I knew how much this birth meant to her.
