Birth story of Miss Eadie, the beginning

Eadie Kate was welcomed into our family in dramatic fashion at St John of God Berwick. I was so grateful that Bree Downes Birth Photographer was there as my birth photographer to capture our experience.

The beginning....

After having niggly contractions randomly for two days, Monday evening the contractions had become stronger and more consistent. Saying good night and good bye to my two daughters knowing their world was about to change was both exciting yet devastating. Although I know that your love multiples not divides I am also acutely aware that time doesn’t and knowing that from this night forward my time would need to be shared between my three most precious things had played on my mind for weeks.

As this was my third birth and both previous births had been on the faster side we began preparing to head to hospital.  Before we left home I said I thought that we were going to early. As soon as we got in the car the contractions stopped. I had 3 in the half an hour trip to the hospital and called Bree and told her that it wasn’t happening.

We sat there for a minute and had a chat before deciding that we would head home and have a sleep and see what happened and I was able to sleep most of the way home. Around 2am I began having stronger contractions which I was no longer able to sleep through. I decided it was time to get up, have a shower and then head to the hospital. Only the contractions were 4 minutes apart and I was no longer able to talk through them. We called Bree and told her to get ready to photograph our birth as we were on this time. Off we went prepared to meet the newest addition to our little clan.
