Hi I’m Amy and I am the face behind the lens at A Grateful Heart Photography, A Melbourne based photographer specializing in capturing your biggest adventure- your family.
I have always been the documentarian when it came to capturing the natural moments. First in my role as a teacher, then as a mother and now as a lifestyle photographer. I know how grateful parents are when they see a photo of their children in a moment that captures not just the person but their personality, feelings and soul.
Growing up in Berwick and spending many weekends and evenings exploring the coast line of the Bass Coast, the pockets of South Gippsland and cool urban haunts of Melbourne compelled me to included beautiful locations to showcase you and your family, the natural, authentic version of you.
What is the most important thing in life? For me it is family. Being able to capture the details of your love as your family photographer makes my heart soar. Natural moments of your tribe photographed now forever a memory are what it’s about. My style of family photography is relaxed and fun. We spend time documenting your uniqueness, the moments between parents and children and hopefully some quiet moments with your partner through it all. I’d never thought I needed or wanted photos of me giving birth before, but with this being potentially our last baby I decided to jump in and get some done just in case I later wished I had. I gave Amy the brief of capturing the emotion and the experience, rather than the delivery itself being the focus, and oh boy did she fulfil her role! When I look at the photos Amy took I am immediately transported back to the moment in time with all the feelings and emotions of the labour, the birth and those first precious moments meeting our beautiful baby boy.
